About the Event
Create deeper engagement in your Middle - HS classes by using close reading, discussion and analysis in these news based lessons. As students analyze events in photos, news reports, and opinion pieces, they make connections to today and how perspectives of participants can impact how events are understood historically. Students can create their own opinion pieces and describe of the who, what, when, why for today and in history. As they apply their new skills they begin to take positions on how its best to respond to issues as a citizen.
